The floods in the Marathwada region have caused widespread devastation. Along with severe crop losses, nearly 15 million hectares of agricultural land have been affected, pushing thousands of farmers into a critical situation.
To support the affected families, ration kits containing 22 essential items — including grains, cooking oil, spices, and daily necessities — are being distributed. Despite the festive season of Diwali, many households continue to struggle to meet their basic needs.
As I travel from village to village with Shri Ramdev Agarwal and Shri Jivrajka, the hardship visible on people’s faces deeply impacts me and reinforces our resolve to support affected families.
Currently, relief efforts are reaching 4,750 families, benefiting nearly 24,000 people across 30 villages. While this support provides immediate relief, the magnitude of the disaster highlights the urgent need for sustained and coordinated assistance.
These initiatives aim not only to provide essential aid but also to help communities regain dignity and rebuild their lives in the aftermath of this natural calamity.

Each season brings uncertainty — unpredictable rains, fluctuating market prices, and rising input costs. For these farmers, every decision can mean the difference between a decent harvest and severe hardship. Understanding the realities behind these figures is crucial to appreciating the struggles and resilience of Maharashtra’s soybean farming community.
